Ana Karla Perea

Ana Karla Perea has 10 years’ experience in forest and climate change policy, including policy advice and program/ project management. Ana Karla’s areas of expertise include climate change policy and REDD+, climate finance and environmental and social safeguards. Ana Karla worked in Mexico’s National Forest Commission (CONAFOR) and served as lead negotiator for the Mexican Government on REDD+ and LULUCF in the UNFCCC. She also worked closely with stakeholders at all levels in the design and implementation of REDD+ in Mexico. Prior to this role, she worked as Environmental and Social Safeguards Coordinator in CONAFOR. Ana Karla holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management from Yale University and a Bachelor in Environmental Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente.

Board of Directors

The Advisory Board oversees ART’s implementation in accordance with the evolving UNFCCC processes and guarantees good governance, transparent rules, and processes that assure quality and adequate safeguards. ART Advisory Board members have all agreed to the ART Board Charter and the ART Ethical Standard. Advisory Board members serve in their personal capacities, not as representatives of their organizations or of particular stakeholder groups.

Secretariat

The ART Secretariat, hosted by Winrock International, is responsible for the operation of the ART program, including the development of The REDD+ Environmental Excellence Standard (TREES) and overseeing the registration, verification and issuance of Board-approved TREES Credits on the ART registry.
