David Shoch

David Shoch is a forester with 20 years of experience worldwide in the development of forest carbon projects. He has contributed to seminal publications of the IPCC, GOFC-GOLD and Verified Carbon Standard, and has authored methodologies for accounting climate impacts of REDD, reduced impact logging, improved forest management and wetland restoration activities. Prior to joining TerraCarbon, David worked for The Nature Conservancy’s climate science team and Winrock International. David holds a Master of Forestry degree from the Duke University Nicholas School of the Environment and a BA in Biology from the University of Richmond. He is a member of the Forest Stewards Guild and is a Certified Forester by the Society of American Foresters.

The Advisory Board oversees ART’s implementation in accordance with the evolving UNFCCC processes and guarantees good governance, transparent rules, and processes that assure quality and adequate safeguards. ART Advisory Board members have all agreed to the ART Board Charter and the ART Ethical Standard. Advisory Board members serve in their personal capacities, not as representatives of their organizations or of particular stakeholder groups.

Secretariat

The ART Secretariat, hosted by Winrock International, is responsible for the operation of the ART program, including the development of The REDD+ Environmental Excellence Standard (TREES) and overseeing the registration, verification and issuance of Board-approved TREES Credits on the ART registry.
