Pradeepa Bholanath

Pradeepa Bholanath is an Environmental Economist who served as the Head of Planning and Development of the Guyana Forestry Commission (GFC) up to January 2020. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy from the University of Guyana (2002), a Master’s of Science Degree in Environmental Economics from the University of York, UK (2004), and an MBA from the Edinburgh Business School, UK (2008). She has knowledge and experience at the senior management level on areas of sustainable development, trade and economic growth, community and social development, REDD+, and climate policy and financing. She also has experience in development and implementation of High Forest Cover Low Deforestation (HFLD) rate programmes and has led the development of the national Monitoring Reporting and Verification (MRV) System for REDD+ in Guyana up to January 2020. She has been a key technical expert in the implementation activities under the Guyana Norway Bilateral Agreement on Climate and Forests including on MRVS and Reference Level development for REDD+.

Board of Directors

The Advisory Board oversees ART’s implementation in accordance with the evolving UNFCCC processes and guarantees good governance, transparent rules, and processes that assure quality and adequate safeguards. ART Advisory Board members have all agreed to the ART Board Charter and the ART Ethical Standard. Advisory Board members serve in their personal capacities, not as representatives of their organizations or of particular stakeholder groups.

Secretariat

The ART Secretariat, hosted by Winrock International, is responsible for the operation of the ART program, including the development of The REDD+ Environmental Excellence Standard (TREES) and overseeing the registration, verification and issuance of Board-approved TREES Credits on the ART registry.
