Moon Herrick
Senior Manager, Policy
As ART’s Senior Manager of Policy, Moon Herrick is responsible for external stakeholder engagement and market positioning. In this capacity, she provides training, communications materials, and other support to ART’s stakeholders, including jurisdictions, buyers, and NGOs. Additionally, she actively participates in various multilateral initiatives, assists ART in its application to certification bodies, and contributes to the development and revision of ART’s standards and program documents. Prior to her current role, Moon served the United States government as a negotiator and program manager focused on sustainable landscapes and carbon markets. In this capacity, she formulated positions and negotiated international climate policy, representing the United States in the Paris Agreement’s Article 6 negotiations and with the Local Communities and Indigenous Peoples Platform. She also managed a substantial $145 million portfolio of foreign assistance programs.
Prior to government service, Moon held the position of Vice President of Natural Climate Solutions at Emergent, where she spearheaded deal origination by recruiting REDD+ jurisdictions and corporate partners for the LEAF Coalition. Her previous experience includes consultant roles with the International Finance Corporation, the World Bank, Forest Trends, and the Green Climate Fund, where she worked on jurisdictional REDD+ from various perspectives, including policy, programming, and design. Moon holds a Master of Science degree from Lund University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wesleyan University.
 
						Board of Directors
The Advisory Board oversees ART’s implementation in accordance with the evolving UNFCCC processes and guarantees good governance, transparent rules, and processes that assure quality and adequate safeguards. ART Advisory Board members have all agreed to the ART Board Charter and the ART Ethical Standard. Advisory Board members serve in their personal capacities, not as representatives of their organizations or of particular stakeholder groups.

Secretariat
The ART Secretariat, hosted by Winrock International, is responsible for the operation of the ART program, including the development of The REDD+ Environmental Excellence Standard (TREES) and overseeing the registration, verification and issuance of Board-approved TREES Credits on the ART registry.
